What to expect during this yoga retreat

The morning will include an hour’s yoga practice based on kindness and connection to help you ground into your body and release tension. You’ll also be encouraged to feel compassion for yourself through simple meditation and visualisation practices. My guiding principle when I teach is for people to feel safe, included and comfortable. We will work at a pace that suits everybody and you don’t need any yoga experience to join.

After a delicious lunch (I love my food, so it will be good!), we’ll continue with a meditation called Yoga Nidra from a comfortable lying position, and allow our lunch to digest! This will be especially written to follow the theme of the day and will help to soothe your nervous system and allow feelings of self-compassion to arise. It will be recorded and sent to you afterwards to listen to again as often as you like.

Before we finish for the day, we’ll have a session to try out a few very restful yoga poses using blankets and cushions to support you and explore what helps you feel relaxed, known as restorative yoga. There’ll be time to write down anything you have learned and want to remember, as well as the opportunity to share your experience with a group of like-minded souls.

During my events, I always invite people to remain quiet if they wish and I request that others respect this. Interaction is supported but you won’t be pressured to do anything you don’t want to. If you have any questions, please contact me louise@louiseyoga.com
