FAQs
What is a restorative yoga workshop?
- My workshops are divided into two sessions; the first hour starts with very gentle seated movements to slowly stretch the body and calm the breathing. Various postures will follow, which are all supported by props and held for several minutes. After a comfort break we return to the mat for a seated breathing practice and a yoga nidra meditation, in a lying position. I invite you to set your own intentions and to fully benefit from this wonderfully relaxing, peaceful and supportive environment.
Is it suitable for a beginner?
- Yes the workshops are designed to suit people of all levels, and those who have never done yoga before.
How long does it last?
- Approximately 2 hours, although I ask you to arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to set up.
What do I need to bring?
- A yoga mat, a bolster, cushion and block (if you have them), blankets, pillows, socks, a warm layer to wear during the relaxation poses. Spare mats, blankets and blocks will be available to use if you don’t have them.
What’s the difference between your restorative yoga workshops and your online/in person classes?
- Restorative yoga is a powerful practice that supports the body’s natural healing processes. By using props we are able to hold each posture for longer which allows the body to fully relax. Through the gentle movements, breathwork and meditation you can release tension and stress, which gives the body a proper opportunity to recharge. During the workshops I create a very calm and friendly space, where like-minded people meet and benefit together.
What can I do afterwards to make the most of the workshop?
- Each workshop has a theme, usually seasonal, and I would suggest you re-visit the intentions you set for yourself. The body will continue to benefit from your practice, particularly if you are able to set aside a few minutes each day to repeat the one posture you found most beneficial.
Is there a maximum number of people who can attend the workshop?
- Yes, please book early to avoid disappointment. If necessary, you will be added to the waiting list and contacted if I have any cancellations
